Study Material: Job 1:7-9
7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied.
10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
Today’s Teaching:
When you live a life that is pleasing to God, a life that reflects the commandments, precepts and directives of the Kingdom, God blesses you. The Bible in Deuteronomy 28:1-2 says: If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God. This was a benefit Job enjoyed. He was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil (v8). So Job was blessed by God (v9b).
When the mark of Christ is upon you, the enemy would always target you because darkness is attracted to light. So Satan watched Job. He must have even tried to devour Job before. But why was he unsuccessful? God had enclosed Job and his family with a hedge or a barrier (v10). There was a barricade that prevented Satan from touching Job. May the Lord barricade you and your family in Jesus’ name. There was divine protection for Job and his family. God will divinely protect you in Jesus’ name.
God trusted Job. God knew that He was so committed and faithful, that even if He allowed Satan to test him, he would never falter. Can God say the same about you? How many tests have you failed? I know that I have failed a few. A benefit of being a part of the Body of Christ is that you receive divine protection. We should walk in the boldness of the Lord during any test knowing that God is our divine protection. Would your spouse or children be alive today not for God’s divine protection? Would you? Can you count the ways and times God has delivered you and your family?
Homework: Bless the Lord for His divine protection upon you and your household. It is a benefit of the Kingdom.
