Study Material: Isaiah 55:6-7 ESV
6 Seek the Lord while he may be found;call upon him while he is near;
7 let the wicked forsake his way,and the unrighteous man his thoughts;let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Today’s Teaching:
God was present with Adam and Eve every single day. He communicated with them as often as they liked. He was there and He let them know it. Although He is everywhere, He had a special place where they met – the Garden of Eden. Nothing stood between them and their relationship with God until sin entered. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they were cast out of their special place (Gen 3:22-24). May we never be cast out in Jesus’ name.
We are to seek the Lord while He may be found (v6). This means that there are times when God cannot be found. If He is everywhere all the time and at the same time, then why would there be a situation when He cannot be found? Although God is omnipresent, sin can limit our access to Him. Adam and Eve had perfect access to God, but sin made them distant. May we not have limited access to God. May He always be near in Jesus’ name.
Isaiah 59:2 NIV says: ‘But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear’. Our iniquities keep up from maximizing our benefits as Believers. We are often limited in accessing God, and that makes us limit our access to His resources. We limit our access to His powers and we limit our access to His favor. May we not be limited in Jesus’ name.
Homework: Pray to God almighty and ask Him to help you to overcome sin; so that you can access the fullness of everything that His presence represents.
