Study Material: Romans 8:13
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
To be broken has two forms. One is about brokenness in the sense of being down, depressed and feeling pain. The other is in the form of the removal of elements of the flesh that limit our relationship with God. Usually, the latter form comes as a good thing, something that liberates.
When one is to be broken of pride, arrogance, hate and other behavioral weaknesses, it helps us to grow and become better Christians. So each of us must identify those areas where our flesh needs to be subdued, and we need to work on being broken.
If you are still haughty, prideful, arrogant, boastful, selfish, rude or anything related to these, then you need to be broken. Maybe you have or are being broken in these areas, but there are possibly remnants that raise their heads from time to time. God will help you. God will help all of us in Jesus’ mighty name. The key is to identify the problem and the unlocking comes when you work with the Holy Spirit to complete the breaking which is death to your flesh (v13).
God bless you.
