Study Material: Job 3:25-26
25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.
Whether we worry or become anxious over a situation, life will happen. The only thing that can change our situation is prayer; and the only person who can change it for us is God. When we pray asking in the name of Jesus Christ; and believing that He will answer, our situations will change. Worrying brings more problems. That is the only change that worrying can make.
Job worried a lot from what we know. Although he was wealthy and had a large wonderful family, he was worried that he would lose all of it and suffer. How do we know? Because at the point when calamity hit his life with the loss of his riches and children; and also boils all over his body that led to bed sores, he lamented his worries. He had always feared that this sort of thing would happen to him.
The Bible tells us very strongly that as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7a). As Job thought and worried, it came upon him. He got more troubles. May that not be our portion in the name of Jesus. This is why Jesus gave us instructions not to worry. He asked us in Matthew 6:27: Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? He then went on to advise, therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own (Mtt 6:34).
Homework: Declare your trust in God to take care of tomorrow for you and commit to stop worrying.
